It's been a while since my last post in my blog. I think it's almost 3 mths, since, I went for my eye surgery. Huh!!! It's not an easy period for me after the operation. I have to restrain myself from going outdoor due to dust and sunlight. Doctor's advice was to stay indoor for 1 mth...Sigh!! Thus, I was on hospitalisation leave for 1 mth...
After the op, I was very uncomfortable, groaning and moaning in the OT that the nurses and the doctor have to ask me why I was groaning. I felt nauseating and discomfort in my stomach, that was my reply to them. And I got an IV meds for that, which made me feel much better. I was then wheeled into the Day Surgery ward, B11. My Right eyes was closed up with eye shield and I can't open up my Left eyes. I can hear the nurses was giving instruction to each other and they finally put me to bed from the trolley and dressed me up with my own clothing. It reminded me to my own job which I did for my patient whenever they came back from OT room.
I was then fall asleep and Edwin was at my bedside, watching me and fall asleep as well. He he he....He said "See you sleep made me want to sleep as well". What he said reminded me to the Titanic movie, "You jump, I jump". He he he...he he he!!!
Awakened from my sleep, I have difficulty to pass urine (PU). I can feel that my bladder was distended but I just can't pass out the urine. The nurses suggested to use a few method like listening to water flow sound and drink some more water. I told the nurse, who brought me to the toilet, to let me use the squatting toilet instead of the sitting toilet. Sigh!!! I still can't PU. Well, the nurse finally advised me to go back to bed and she will serve me some hot drink and sandwich. It will help me to PU later, as what she said. Yes, it did. After the 3rd attempt, I finally PU. Yeess!!!! What a relief!!! Now, I know the importance of to observe a patient's urine output after the operation due to the effect of the anaesthesia.
I was discharged in the late afternoon after a few hours rest in the Day Surgery Ward. Both my eyes was cleansed before I went home. The nurse told me there were some bloods in my eyes when she did the dressing. EEek...I can imagine the blood flowing out from my eyes. Oh dear! The nurse also told me that the eye shield on the Right eyes can be open later at night, which I didn't. I only opened it on the next day when my aunt did the dressing for me. My aunt told me that there were still some blood in my eyes when she did the dressing. Both eyes appear very red. My heart dropped when I looked myself in the mirror. And Yes, they are really very very red. As red as fire, is what I can said. And I really prayed they will heal faster...
